Twin-Ply Birch plywood is strong, lightweight and extremely durable. Manufactured with 1.4mm rotary cut white birch veneers and 1.4mm Spruce veneers interchanged per layer, the construction provides superior strength while decreasing the overall panel weight. All plies are solid and contain no voids. (CLICK PIC AT LEFT TO SEE EDGE GRAIN)
Uses: Paint applications, seat replacement, fiberglass (bulkheads and other structural parts). Hull work where glass and/or vinyl overlay are employed. Exterior applications: columns, soffit, forms (one-time),anywhere a durable, non deteriorating panel is required.
Twin Ply Birch Marine is bonded with a Phenolic resin adhesive (WBP), which is weather and boil proof. The formaldehyde content is very low providing it with an E-1 emission classification.
The marine designation is BS6566, providing less stringent guidelines than the BS1088 standard. (Birch and Spruce are allowed in this class and suitable for hull work). This is an excellent substitute for Fir.
The 1/4" Twin ply has all birch core and is a 5 ply product.
